It’s time to get new energy for all 2012 photo sessions!

Many people have their holidays during the Swedish summer in June – August but for a wedding photographer that’s not really an option! So, after a long summer and fall season 2011 it’s finally time for me to take some time to relax and get new inspiration and energy before the 2012 season kicks off. I love my work but the following weeks I will love even more to lay down at the beach, say “Hi” to Nemo and his friends below the surface and to visit the Golden Triangle with the camera in my hand. Ehhh….. yes, I will bring my camera because it’s not only lazy days ahead but also some documentary work on the schedule!

I hope you will have patience with me if I’m slow at answering to your e-mails. I will be back at the office January 23′ and if you have urgent questions please contact my studio colleague Sandra Birgersdotter at info@birgersdotter.com, she will be in the studio as usual.

Birds and a dark moth – a preview of yesterday’s session

Yesterday our studio was studded by hair extensions, false lashes, feathers and a team that had incredibly fun creating a series of photos inspired by birds and a dark moth. I will post more photos later but for now I share a few first close up favourites of the two models. And I promise that next blog post from this session is well worth waiting for!

Third day without e-mail – just like in the 20′s!

Sometimes people say that it was better before but I definately don’t agree right now! Today is the third day I don’t have access to my e-mail account and thus I can’t read e-mails sent to me and obviously can’t reply either! So, if you want to get in contact, please call +46 70 175 43 24 or just be patient.

The pictures? Well, I like the old day’s style anyway and these photos are from a session at Såstaholm some time ago.

Monday night thoughts – inspired by two of my friends

I have found two quotes on Facebook that have spoken to me on a personal level and today I want to share them with you. The first one, originally said by P. Coelho quoted by my former bride Tanja Erkkilä, goes “Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea about their sufferings.” The other one (I don’t know the origin, written at Facebook by Jesse Odesho) says “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have; you will never, ever have enough.”

It’s late and I won’t go into details on why these quotes speak so strongly to me but what I can say is that I have struggled all my life to like myself for who I am and not only for what I do or achieve. But now, finally, I am beginning to (but I’m not there yet!) to shift perspective and find my own place in this world. My place. Where I want to be. Not because I’m supposed or obliged to but because I have chosen it. I have always, and always will in many ways, wanted perfection but I am now learning that perfection is not just about control and what seems perfect. It’s also about letting go. So, this is what I leave you with tonight, a wish that you already have or soon will find what makes you feel home and at ease with yourself.

And, because this is a photo blog more than anything else, I also want to share a first teaser from Britt-Marie’s and Per’s wedding at Södertuna last Saturday. I was with them the whole day and in a day or two I will post a lot more photos from their wedding.

Good night!
